Two Rocks In Relationship "Don't Tell Me What To Do". By Dr. Rick Moss, Ph.D. Presented to the congregation at Pacific Coast Church June 02, 2002 Intro by Dr. Bill Little Ph.D. Spiritual Integration Rick is going to lead us in a clearing now. We're told that spiritual community is essential. That if we want to move forward in our enlightenment we must enter into that community. Awakening, enlightenment requires the fire that spiritual community ignites within us. In order to enter into spiritual community more fully we must look and release our resistance to that community. “Awakening, enlightenment requires the fire that spiritual community ignites within us.” So close your eyes with me for a moment. We'll use this process called the Bull's Eye where we imagine that we are standing above a vat that will accept all that we release. And we're standing on this platform that allows us to release into this vat that which stands in the way of entering into spiritual community. Clearing Look within yourself and find any energy of "Don't tell me what to do." Because that will occur. "Don't tell me what I can't do." Find the fire of that. It is probably within us all. Let it drain out of you now. What if you could release that resistance, that antagonism, that anger, that hurt, you could just let it go and drain out of you now into the vat beneath you? Feel the freedom that you gain in that - the ease, the lightness. What if you could release now your resistance to people you don't like? Because we will all find people that we don't like in spiritual community. Why? Because they reflect back to us things we don't like about ourselves. They are mirrors. Mirrors are required for awakening. So dealing with people that we don't like and learning to enter into that relationship with compassion and forgiveness and love and acceptance is required. And what about doing things that we don't like doing? And what about all that we've defined ourselves as, or not as? "Oh I don't do that, I don't do windows". Well you know what? Windows are required. Because windows are how we look through form and see divinity. They're all the places within us that we don't do windows and they have to be challenged; and it creates fire, and the fire is the kettle, Bill tells us, into which we throw the ego and it burns up. Let all your resistance now to spiritual community drain out of you. And imagine that you could climb down the stairs on the side of this vat to the ground level. And painted on the ground level is a big black circle. It collects more of your subconscious resistance as you walk through it. Painted around the black circle is a big gray circle. You are heading to the light now, and every step that you take you get lighter, more expanded, less set in your ways, more window like. You are moving through the darkest, the medium, and the light gray. And what if with one more step you could step out of the lightest gray, the smallest resistance and into the white, into the light. Leaving all of that judgment and fear and resistance behind. Stepping into the light of that Awakened Self that always exists within us. And we are conscious of that awakenedness now. Now as you stand in the light without the ego's judgement and separation feel that you are holding the hand of everyone here. Feel that circle of love that is spiritual community and ask yourself: "Do I really not want to enter into relationship with someone here 'cause I don't like them?" I think you will find the answer is no. "Is there anything in this moment that I couldn't do that would not serve light, that would serve love?" I think you will find the answer is no. Welcome then the truth. The truth is that who we are embraces everyone and can do whatever is asked of it that serves the light. And not only can it do it but it is it's great joy. Love flows through us through extension. “Love flows through us through extension.” As we extend ourselves to more people, and even people we thought that we didn't like love grows, we grow, the universe is nurtured and the inner self is watered. Move forward now with this awareness holding the hand of everyone, this great mass of love moving forward, everyone in this room together. And we move through the gray and the black and it disappears and we go to touch the vat of our resistance to community, to communality, to oneness, and it disappears For in truth it was never there, it was only a shadow - and we know what happens to shadows when the light comes.
